Garstang was the World's first Fair Trade Town and in 2008 achieved the European award Overall Gold Medal Champions Entente Florale Europe. A small historic country town lying on the west bank of the River Wyre, Garstang is amid pastoral land bounded by the hills of the Forest of Bowland to the east.   The town is conveniently located with access to the national motorway network within short distances to the north and south along the A6 which skirts the town to the west. The area is popular for its annual art festival and agricultural show.

Garstang offers a full range of shops and services with a centuries old Thursday Street Market.   It has a strong community identity and provides many sporting and recreational activities, several of which are along the picturesque Lancaster Canal which meanders through the town. 2009 witnessed the arrival of a Sainsburys Supermarket, and a new Booths Supermarket complex which is adjacent to the newly created Cherestanc Town Square. Garstang Golf Club is well regarded, and there is a local Rugby team.

Meet the team

  Catherine Cavanagh (Branch Manager)

The Garstang Branch is headed by Catherine who has over thirty five years’ experience in Estate Agency. Catherine has a wealth of knowledge and will visit your home to carry out the Market Appraisal and advise you on how to achieve the best price for your property. Catherine is also responsible for the day to day running of the Branch leading a successful team of dedicated negotiators and personnel.
  Linda Hall (Senior Sales Negotiator)

Linda joined Farrell Heyworth as part of the Company’s expansion programme in 2006. She has over twenty years’ experience and a wealth of knowledge of the local area. Her strength lies in helping customers through the sales and lettings process. She also carries out full Lettings Appraisals for new and existing Landlords.
 

Janet Robinson (Sales Negotiator)

Janet who has a sound knowledge of the local area having always lived in Garstang has been a member of our team for over five years. During this time Janet has gained a vast amount of experience and our Vendors and Purchasers can rest assured that if Janet is their assigned negotiator she will endeavour to make the sales process as stress free as possible.
 

Dan Crouch (Mortgage Broker)

Dan has strong local connections in the Garstang Area provides advice to clients on all Mortgage and associated products. As part of the Mortgage Advice Bureau, the UK’s largest High Street Broker, Dan works with clients to assess their needs and can offer many exclusive products that are not available to other Advisers. Yvette has worked within Estate Agency and Financial Services for eight years and has a depth of experience.
  Dorothy Swarbrick (Viewer)

After a long and successful career in the Civil Service Dorothy moved to Garstang hoping for a long and peaceful retirement. Having purchased a home through Farrell Heyworth she found herself working for the Company and is still with us some ten years later. Dorothy has a sound knowledge of the local area.
  Jim Farrimond (Viewer)

Jim joined the Company in 2006 and carries out a large proportion of our sales and lettings viewings so you are likely to have the pleasure of meeting him during your search for your new home. You will also find him carrying out office duties at week-ends.
 

Sue Houston (Lettings Administrator)

Sue has a wealth of property industry knowledge and has recently joined our Property Management Team. Once a Tenancy Application has been received at our office in Garstang Sue then takes over the process until the date of Move In. As a Landlord, Sue will deal with all aspects of Property Management once your property is Let and she is the first port of call for any repairs or maintenance issues.
